šŸ’– Whimsy on wheels & Valentine dreams šŸ’–

Hello friends šŸŒˆšŸ’Œ

I’ve dedicated all of my art time recently to finishing a skate deck commission—and that’s exactly what I did. All three decks are officially finished, and I’m so happy with how they turned out. Each one is covered in Charlotte-themed designs like mascots, a local bar, city skylines, and even a touch of glitter to make them extra whimsical ✨

The top of each deck has ā€œ704ā€ written across it for Charlotte’s area code, and I sealed every deck to make sure they’re protected and extra shiny. This project took a lot of time, layers, and patience—and it definitely taught me that I need to sand future skate decks more to make my life easier šŸ›¹šŸŽØ

šŸ‘“ Meta glasses magic šŸ‘“

i am notoriously horrible at filming my art process and usually forget to record anything at all, so for my birthday my dad got me meta glasses and they are honestly exactly what i needed. i have been using them to film my art process from my own perspective and i am kind of obsessed.

they capture exactly what i see while i am working, which makes documenting my process feel effortless and natural. showing how my pieces are created is so important for growing my instagram and my business, and i am really excited to start sharing more behind the scenes moments with you all.

that being said, i definitely still need to work on the editing part of the process, so if you have any tips or favorite tools for editing art videos, please let me know šŸ’Œ

šŸ“ New commission in the works šŸ“

Alongside the decks, I also started a cat commission and recreated one of my favorite

background designs in a new color palette.

It may look similar to a dog commission I did last month, but there will be lots of differences as it develops.Ā

Of course, there will be a cute cat holding a strawberry šŸ“šŸ± (apparently this cat loves strawberries, which makes me even more excited to keep working on it).

šŸ’ Thinking ahead to Valentine’s Day šŸ’

After hearing back about a painting I made as a wedding gift, I realized how special it is to lean into art as meaningful gifts. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I’d love to paint first-date spots, couples portraits, or illustrated collages of favorite shared activities šŸ’˜ These pieces are deeply personal and make such sweet, lasting gifts.

The drawing above is one I made a few years ago as an anniversary gift, and it would be perfect for Valentine’s Day too—just like illustrated date spots or portraits of people you love.

If you’re interested in commissioning something special, I’d love to create it for you šŸ’•

With love and color,

Ā Rosalie
