Happy New Year, friends ✨

Savannah Days & Slow Starts 🌿

I spent the holidays in Savannah with my family, soaking up the warm weather, wandering past historic homes, kayaking, hiking, and eating lots of delicious Southern food. It felt grounding in the best way. Slow mornings, long walks, and a reminder that so much inspiration lives outside the studio, too. I always love venturing back to the South and reconnecting with a foundational part of me. It makes me grateful for the wonderful people I’ve grown up with and gives me space to miss my little pocket of whimsy in Venice.

Unfortunately, I ended up spending New Year’s Eve in bed with the flu, which wasn’t exactly glamorous, but I’m on the mend now and happily back to making lots of art. One of the few things I managed to do that night (besides lying in bed and drinking tea) was creating a 2026 bingo board with my boyfriend, filled with goals and hopes for the year. Here’s to manifesting a very quick bingo.

Some squares on the card include:• Finishing 5 large art pieces• Joining a Mandarin-speaking group• Posting a video of me painting or my art every other day for a month

What’s Been Moving Through the Studio 🎨

Since the new year began, things have been quietly but steadily happening:

• I just sent out a psychedelic pastel piece that’s still a surprise, so photos will be coming next month.• The wedding gift painting I shared last time has officially been sent off to its forever home.• I also sold four Mooncake calendars, which feels especially perfect now that 2026 is here. Here’s to the New Year with the same familiar furry friend.2026 Mooncake Calendar

Skate Deck Progress 🛹✨

I’m about one-third of the way through my custom skate deck commission. The project was commissioned by someone from my hometown, Charlotte, and all three decks are Charlotte-themed and personalized. It’s been really special to revisit places and memories from where I grew up and translate them into something colorful and tangible. I can’t wait to share the finished pieces with you all. Keep an eye out.

A Quick Mooncake Update 🍊🐱

Most importantly, Mooncake is officially cone-free. She’s back to roaming comfortably, supervising studio time, and generally acting like herself again. We’re both very relieved, even though her cone was exceptionally stylish.

Thank you, as always, for being here, reading, supporting, and following along. I’m excited for what this year holds and can’t wait to share more work, stories, and little moments as they unfold.

With love and color,

 Rosalie
